Song roots

The inspirations behind the songs might be of interest, but the roots, the foundational truths on which the songs stand, are of much more value than just interest. These are the backgrounds that you'll find with each song.

There are many, many things we are still learning, but there are some things we know with final conviction, where the honest search met with the honest answer. These are the rock-solid truths from which the songs were penned, truths that are simple and direct, yet huge.

In writing these roots we felt it was right to be plain and direct, not because we are higher than others and have all the answers (we certainly don't), but because we remember that we were found at the very bottom of the pit, and that when redemption reached us it wasn't veiled.

"The Christians who live the most abundant lives are those with the best memories. They remember what it was to be lost in sin. They remember what God has done for them. They remember the miracles he has performed. They live in astonishment that God could love them so much. They remain surprised that God would have mercy on them."

'a childlike heart' Alan D.Wright (we didn't forget to capitalise, that's the way the book is.)
